Zonal Councils are statutory bodies created under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956, and each is chaired by the Union Home Minister. Chief Ministers of member states serve as vice-chairman by rotation. The Prime Minister chairs the Inter-State Council under Article 263, a common distractor.

The Sihawa-Nagri jungle satyagraha of January 1922, one of the earliest forest satyagrahas in the country, was led by:
Shyamlal Som led the Sihawa-Nagri jungle satyagraha (Dhamtari) in January 1922, during the Non-Cooperation Movement, against begar and the loss of forest rights. Yatiyatan Lal is linked with the Tamora jungle satyagraha of 1930, and Thakur Pyarelal Singh with the Rajnandgaon mill workers.
Reading Comprehension
Read the passage (an original practice passage) and answer the question.
A weekly haat is more than a market. In many forest villages it is where a family sells its tamarind, buys salt and cloth, hears news of a wedding, and meets the health worker who has set up a table under a tree. When officials replace a haat with a distant mandi on the grounds of efficiency, they may gain a better price record but lose a place where the village meets itself.
Which of the following best expresses the main idea of the passage?
The passage lists the haat’s non-commercial roles (news, meeting the health worker, the village ‘meeting itself’) and warns that an efficient mandi may lose them, so (a) covers the whole passage. (b) is extreme and the passage actually says the mandi may give a better price record. (c) adds ‘only’ and a recommendation the passage never makes. (d) turns one example into a ranking.
